Welcome to the Maths Department

S4 are invited to attend a Credit Grade Masterclass after school on Thursday 18 March - this will focus on how to improve Reasoning and Enquiry grades. All students in Mr Ferguson's class should try to come along.

S2 are encouraged to purchase a scientific calculator through the school (at a discounted rate) and letters will be sent home about this.  If other pupils wish to buy a calculator through the school they should ask their teacher for a form for this purpose.

Please find details of our courses by clicking on the links below

S1/2 Maths

S3/4 Maths - all levels

How you can help at home:

The following website

www.mathsrevision.com

is an excellent resource for lessons, revision sheets, notes, past exams, mind maps, videos and puzzles for all levels from S1 to S6

S5/6 can access the SCHOLAR website

http://courses.scholar.hw.ac.uk/vle/scholar/login.jsp

All pupils doing Int2 or Higher Maths have usernames and passwords to access this resource.

S3/4 have many good websites that can consolidate their learning - BBC Bitesize is a particularly useful site for Maths revision

http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/learning/bitesize/standard/maths_i/

S1/2 should go to the Mathsisfun site http://www.mathsisfun.com/ which is well worth a look

Clearly there are many very worthwhile websites out there - we would ask you to encourage your youngsters to explore these (including sites that offer video clips) as part of the learning process.
